Wool, new wool, or lambswool – what is the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable resource. This blanket is made of 100% lambswool. Lambswool is defined as the wool from a sheep's (very) first shearing, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like new wool, it is obtained from live sheep, usually in the spring, in one piece whenever possible. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being woven into a beautiful orange. Lambswool is known for being barely itchy, breathable, and having excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything possible to ensure the blanket feels soft; for this, the lambswool is extra pre-combed, although this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket would be, and the blanket may pill a little, especially at the beginning.

The rust-orange Velvet throw is wonderfully machine washable at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cozy blanket yourself when needed. To ensure you enjoy your wool blanket for a long time, it is best to use a mild wool detergent and avoid fabric softener. Keep in mind that natural wool grease has a self-cleaning effect and you will gradually wash it out with every wash.
