Wool, virgin wool, or lambswool – what is the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This blanket is made of 100% lambswool. Lambswool refers to the wool from a sheep's (very) first shearing, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like virgin wool, it is obtained from living sheep, usually in the spring and as much as possible in one piece. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being beautifully dyed and spun into yarn. The Klippan Curve blankets are then woven from this wool. Lambswool is said to be barely itchy, breathable, and to have excellent insulating properties. It provides warmth in winter and cooling in summer. Klippan does everything possible to ensure the blanket feels soft; the lambswool is specially pre-combed for this purpose. However, this quality is naturally slightly coarser than a cotton blanket would be, and the blanket may shed a little at the beginning.

The Curve throw can be washed wonderfully at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cozy blanket yourself when needed. To ensure you enjoy your wool blanket for a long time, it is best to use a mild wool detergent and avoid fabric softener. Keep in mind that natural wool fat has a self-cleaning effect, and you will gradually wash it out with every cycle. The Curve in Créme Caramel can be aired out on the clothesline, after which it will feel fluffy again.
