Wool, new wool, or lambswool – what is the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This blanket is made of 100% lambswool. Lambswool is the term for wool from a sheep's (very) first shearing, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Just like new wool, it is obtained from live sheep, usually in the spring, and as much as possible in one piece. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being beautifully dyed blue and spun into yarn. The Klippan Harald blankets are then woven from this wool. Lambswool is said to be barely scratchy, breathable, and has excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything to ensure the blanket feels soft; for this, the lambswool is specially pre-combed. Nevertheless, this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket would be, and the blanket may pill slightly, especially at the beginning.

The Harald throw can be wonderfully washed at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cozy blanket yourself whenever needed.
