Wool, new wool, or lamb's wool - what's the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This blanket is made of 100% lamb's wool. Lamb's wool is the term for the wool from a sheep's (very) first shearing, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like new wool, it is mostly obtained from live sheep in one piece, usually in the spring. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being dyed a wonderful rose brown and spun into yarn. The Klippan Knut blankets are then woven from this wool. Lamb's wool is said to be barely scratchy, breathable, and has excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything possible to ensure the blanket feels soft; for this, the lamb's wool is specially pre-combed, yet this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket, and the blanket will shed a little at the beginning.

The Knut throw can be washed wonderfully at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cozy blanket yourself when needed. To ensure you enjoy your wool blanket for a long time, it is best to use a mild wool detergent and avoid fabric softener. Remember that the natural wool grease has a self-cleaning effect and you wash it out bit by bit with every wash. The rose brown Knut blanket airs out well outside on the line and then drapes over your shoulders again.
