Herbert Zillinger Winery – Weinviertel
The Herbert Zillinger winery is located in Austria's largest wine-growing region, the Weinviertel – specifically in Ebenthal, about 70 km northeast of Vienna, very close to the Slovenian border. Perhaps this is why Herbert Zillinger has become a boundary-pusher, including with his wines. Because one thing is clear: the wines from the Herbert Zillinger winery are radically different.
Herbert Zillinger Winery – Radically different
In 1998, young Herbert took over his parents' winery with 7 hectares of vineyards. Since 2005, he has had Carmen, a strong woman, by his side; they are a well-coordinated team both privately and in the winery. They strive to work as closely with nature as possible, which is why they practice biodynamic farming. Quality and diversity are important to them, so they give their wines the time and space to become what they are: unique pieces with character – honest and profound, calm yet expressive. For some, the wines from the Herbert Zillinger winery are uncharted territory; they broaden horizons and are radically different: puristic, uncompromising, and conscious of their origins.
