Wool, new wool, or lambswool – what is the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This blanket is made of 100% lambswool. Lambswool refers to the wool from a sheep's or lamb's very first shearing, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like new wool, it is obtained from living sheep, usually in the spring, in as large a piece as possible. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being wonderfully dyed and spun into yarn. The Klippan Harald blankets are then woven from this wool. Lambswool is said to be barely scratchy, breathable, and to have excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything possible to ensure the blanket feels soft, which is why the lambswool is specially pre-combed; nevertheless, this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket, and the blanket will lint a little at the beginning.

The beautiful Harald throw can be wonderfully washed at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cozy blanket yourself when needed.
