Nimmervoll Winery – Pinot Blanc Wagramlöss 2023
The Nimmervoll Pinot Blanc Wagramlöss 2023 from the Nimmervoll winery is a dry white wine from the Wagram wine-growing region in Austria. With a moderate alcohol content of 13% and a balance between acidity (6.0 g/l) and residual sugar (3.5 g/l), this Austrian wine is a pleasant companion for food. The Pinot Blanc Wagramlöss is fragrant with notes of pears, apples, and white blossoms. On the palate, it is juicy, cool, and elegant.
To maintain freshness, Gregor Nimmervoll harvests the Pinot Blanc grapes as soon as they are physiologically ripe. In 2023, this required three harvest passes between September 25 and October 25, 2023. The grapes are destemmed, meaning they are separated from their stalks and stems, and gently pressed after a 12-hour maceration period. They are then fermented on the lees in steel tanks. The wine is left on its own lees and bottled the following spring.
This is what Gregor says about his Nimmervoll Pinot Blanc Wagramlöss: "The Wagram favorite. Grown on loess. Often in the shadows, yet with unexpected radiance. Cool elegance in times of heat. Classic Pinot style with fine acidity. Our future and already one of our beacons today."
Pinot Blanc and Wagram
Pinot Blanc and Wagram get along well. After all, the loess soil gives the unfortunately often underestimated Pinot Blanc grape variety a special finesse and elegance. The wines of the "Boden" (Soil) line, which also includes the Pinot Blanc Wagramlöss Wagram DAC, reflect the original and unmistakable character of the region and its soil. Shaped by the Wagram loess soil, they are the hallmarks of Gregor Nimmervoll.
