Art of weaving à la française – Tradition since 1861

The history of the company Le Jacquard Francais dates back to 1861, when Benjamin Baer opened a fabric shop in Gérardmer in the French Vosges mountains. In 1928, his successors, the Nathan Lévy weaving mill, expanded the business with a bleachery, as white linen was in great demand at the time. In 1968, the company was taken over by the ELIS Group, which purchased more than 50 looms for weaving Jacquard fabrics and created the Le Jacquard Francais brand. As the quintessence of creative and technical know-how, the cloths are woven with the utmost care in the textile factory in the Vosges and then sewn there.

The linen tablecloths from Le Jacquard Francais bear the Masters of Linen label. This label distinguishes products that are 100% manufactured in Europe, from the harvest and fiber to the finished fabric. For this reason, they work with Terre de Lin, a cooperative of flax growers who together preserve their expertise and share and further develop skills related to production and social commitment.
