The Art of Weaving à la française – Tradition since 1861

The history of the company Le Jacquard Français dates back to 1861, when Benjamin Baer opened a fabric shop in Gérardmer in the French Vosges. In 1928, his successors, the weaving mill Nathan Lévy, expanded the business to include a bleachery, as white linens were extremely popular at the time. In 1968, the company was acquired by the ELIS group, which purchased more than 50 looms for weaving Jacquard fabrics and created the Le Jacquard Français brand. As the quintessence of creative and technical know-how, the kitchen towels are woven with the utmost care in the textile factory in the Vosges and subsequently sewn there.

Le Jacquard Français linen tablecloths carry the Masters of Linen label. It distinguishes products that have been 100% manufactured in Europe, from the harvest and the fiber to the finished fabric. For this reason, they work with Terre de Lin, a cooperative of flax growers who together preserve their expertise and share and develop skills related to production and social responsibility.
