Tea towel with a cheeky saying in bright orange
The "17;30" tea towel & wehe es schmeckt nicht (or else it won't taste good) is a kitchen towel made from pure cotton, designed in Hamburg and screen-printed by hand. An orange wink for everyone who loves to cook and wants to hear a compliment for it, too.
Tea towel with a saying—at 17;30, that means a kitchen towel that speaks its mind. "& wehe es schmeckt nicht" (or else it won't taste good) appears in bold orange on a light background, a sentence that every cook has secretly thought at least once. 50 x 70 cm of pure cotton that dries reliably and provides a good mood at the stove on the side.
Orange that shines right through the kitchen
In a rich orange, the towel adds color to the hook rack and the countertop. You can see it from the doorway, long before you have even read the saying.
The lettering is screen-printed by hand, letter by letter, in an orange that doesn't believe in half measures. Colorful, cheerful, and eloquent—that is how they understand their prints in Hamburg, and that is exactly what lifts this towel out of the gray monotony of the drawer. Because every piece goes through the printing process individually, no two are exactly alike; small quirks are part of it and make your copy your own.
Dry the dishes and grin while doing it
The cotton towel absorbs water from glasses, plates, and freshly washed hands without leaving any lint. A reliable kitchen towel that stays in use from breakfast until the evening cleanup.
Pure cotton becomes a little more willing to absorb with every wash; after the first cycle, the towel dries even better than it did on the first day. It can go in the machine at up to 60 degrees; ironed, it lies flat over the rail, and the lettering remains bold. Take it with you as a housewarming gift, rolled up in the paper band it already comes in.

An idea from the end of the workday
Behind 17;30 is a team from Hamburg, founded by Anna Upleger in 2010 on the Elbe and now led by Quinn Upleger.
The wine was delicious, the mood was magnificent, and at half past five, at 17;30, the decision was made to make beautiful things. First, maritime leather key fobs were created, and from 2016 onwards, cards, paper bags, and tea towels with an attitude. A tea towel is just not just any tea towel, as Quinn Upleger likes to say; the boring plaid pattern has ruled kitchens for long enough.
100 percent cotton, woven in India and designed in Hamburg, refined by hand with screen printing—that is how the saying gets onto the cloth. Craftsmanship that you can see in the paint.
Beautifully packaged and ready to give
Each towel comes individually with a paper band, ready to be gifted without any need for extra wrapping paper.
An inexpensive gift that won't disappear into a cupboard, but hangs on the rail and earns a little grin every morning. For a dinner party, the "Bier kalt stellen ist auch kochen" (chilling beer is also cooking) towel is a great second choice for the grill master of the house. If you like, you can combine two motifs into a small set, turning the cheeky greeting into a complete kitchen duo.
