Vinfabriken – Smålands Glögg non-alcoholic from Sweden
The Vinfabriken Smålands Glögg non-alcoholic is a non-alcoholic punch, a fruit juice drink with mulled wine flavor based on lingonberry and apple juice, which comes from the southern Swedish province of Småland. Wild lingonberries grown there give this non-alcoholic Glögg punch its aromatic, full character. Cinnamon, cloves, and coriander give it its balanced spice.
The word Glögg is the shortened form of "glödgat vin" and actually means nothing other than mulled wine. Glögg is sometimes also referred to as Swedish punch or Swedish mulled wine. Here in a non-alcoholic version.
Glögg without alcohol – non-alcoholic punch
Traditionally, Glögg is drunk in Sweden during the Advent season and especially on St. Lucia's Day. It is accompanied by lussekatter (sweet saffron yeast buns) and gingerbread. During the pre-Christmas season, Glögg, including non-alcoholic versions, is offered everywhere in Sweden at any time of day. Enjoy the punch steaming hot in good company, and the cold won't stand a chance, at least for a while.
Following Swedish tradition, the non-alcoholic Smålandsglögg is also served in a mug with a spoon. Cover the bottom of the mug with chopped almonds and raisins and fill it with the gently heated Glögg.
