The base for this Cuvée No. 23 by Jörg Geiger is juice from apples grown in meadow orchards and sweet-and-sour rhubarb, as well as various herbs and blossoms such as wood sorrel and dock. This non-alcoholic cocktail is characterized by the unmistakable aroma of rhubarb, accompanied by apple blossoms and rose petals. On the palate, it reveals vibrant acidity and the full flavor of fresh apples and vanilla. It is light, fresh, straightforward, and acidic.

The old apple and perry pear varieties come from the landscape-defining meadow orchards along the bird sanctuary at the foot of the Swabian Jura – hand-picked, ripened, and gently processed at the Jörg Geiger manufactory, which has already received several awards (including from Slow Food) for its juices. Due to their distinct aromas, the acidity of old apple varieties, and the emphasized tannin notes of the pears, these juices form a very special, natural foundation for the Geiger Prisecco varieties.

We have known the owner of the Geiger manufactory, Jörg Geiger, personally for many years. The Prisecco manufactory is located in Schlat near Göppingen, where I lived for several years myself. Jörg Geiger began producing fruit-based non-alcoholic cocktails as more of a hobby. In the meantime, he has acquired a great deal of knowledge about the preparation of this non-alcoholic specialty, as well as old fruit varieties and the use of herbs.
