Lusvardi Grato Lambrusco IGP: Sparkling Pleasure from Emilia-Romagna

Experience the Lusvardi Grato Lambrusco IGP, a sparkling red Frizzante from Emilia-Romagna that will enchant your senses. This Lambrusco dell’Emilia IGP is made from 100% Lambrusco Salamino (60%) and Grasparossa (40%) grape varieties. Traditional fermentation and aging on the lees result in a fine perlage and a complex aroma that defines the character of this wine. On the palate, the wine appears fresh and dry with good acidity. Fine tannins and a subtle spice lend it its unmistakable character and ensure an unforgettable taste experience. Its name, Grato, translates to "grateful."

Why this Lambrusco promises sparkling enjoyment:

  • Red fruits and pepper: Cherries and currants, accompanied by spicy pepper notes and the scent of bread crust – this Lambrusco offers a rich and multi-layered taste experience.
  • Traditional production: The traditional fermentation at controlled temperatures and 7-month aging on the lees give the wine special depth and structure, rounded off by a second fermentation in the bottle on the lees without disgorging, according to the *metodo ancestrale*.
  • Versatile moments of enjoyment: Whether with aged ham, seafood dishes, or mushroom risotto – Grato Lambrusco is the perfect companion for diverse culinary experiences.

Lusvardi Vino - everything you need to know!

Production and Philosophy

This exceptional Lambrusco is produced by Andrea Lusvardi and his wife Rita Covezzi at their 7-hectare family winery in the province of Reggio Emilia. Since 2014, all the winery's vineyards have been organically certified, meaning that chemical additives and synthetic pesticides are avoided. The focus is on natural methods and the preservation of biodiversity to produce wines that reflect the authentic character of the terroir. The production of this Lambrusco involves careful fermentation at controlled temperatures followed by aging on the lees for almost seven months. The second fermentation in the bottle with natural yeasts and must from the same grapes creates a sparkling Ancestrale wine characterized by its complexity and depth.

Color, Scent, and Palate

The Lusvardi Grato Lambrusco IGP presents itself in a bright ruby red with garnet reflections that immediately catch the eye. On the nose, it unfolds an intense bouquet of red fruits, especially cherry and blackberry, accompanied by floral notes reminiscent of violets. On the palate, it convinces with a harmonious balance of fresh acidity and delicate tannins, ensuring a lively yet elegant finish. The fine bubbles make it a refreshing yet elegant sparkling wine.

Perfect Combinations

This sparkling wine starts the evening as an aperitif – and stays at the table afterward. Its fruity and floral aromas make it an ideal aperitif, while its structure and freshness pair excellently with fish dishes and risotto, grilled meat, Italian charcuterie, and aged cheeses. It is also an excellent choice for desserts with berries or chocolate, as it wonderfully complements sweet flavors.
