Champagne chocolate Easter bunny by Fesey chocolate figures

The champagne chocolate Easter bunny by Fesey chocolate figures is wrapped in light, shimmering foil with a hue between pale antique pink and silver. In this bunny, "champagne" refers only to the color; the figure underneath is made of mild milk chocolate.

Champagne chocolate Easter bunny is a 90-gram Easter figure from the Fesey collection, wrapped by hand in Riemerling near Munich. While pink and orange call out for attention, this bunny holds back, waiting for the light to catch it.

On a set table with linen and white porcelain, it appears more sophisticated than any other shade in the series. Those looking for a bolder counterpart in the same nest can place the ice-blue 90-gram bunny next to it. As a greeting beside the place setting, the light-colored bunny acts as a place card while remaining edible.

Pale rosé with silvery edges

The foil has a warm core and cool edges, causing every fold to shift between rosé and silver. In backlighting, the figure looks almost glassy; in shadow, it resembles matte powder. Under a pendant lamp, the shimmer leans warm; in the morning by the window, it shifts almost to silver. It almost disappears among white tulips, but stands out clearly against dark Easter grass.

Because the color remains so light, the embossed details stand out more than on darker chocolate figures. The texture of the fur runs in fine lines across the back and flanks, the laid-back ears end in a sharp notch, and the round cheek casts its own little shadow.

Classic mold, contemporary shade

The mold comes from the company's nostalgic archives and has produced the same edges and curves for decades. The light hue, however, is a recent addition, intended for tables where no children are present.

Wrapping is still done by hand, which is why no two folds are the same—a detail especially noticeable with such light foil. Two bunnies from the same batch look identical from two steps away, but distinct up close. This is exactly how you can tell how much craftsmanship goes into these chocolate figures.

Mild milk chocolate behind pale paper

In the ingredient list, cocoa butter precedes cocoa mass, which gives this milk chocolate (at least 37% cocoa content) its soft, rapid melt. The wall of the hollow figure gives way slowly when bitten and melts in the mouth shortly thereafter.

Milky, gentle, and understated, this flavor matches its restrained exterior. For an espresso after the Easter roast, a broken-off piece finds its way to the table naturally, and alongside a piece of braided yeast bread, the sweetness stays pleasantly in the background. If you want to set a tranquil Easter table, you won't find a softer tone among all the chocolate figures than this one.

Heat is this figure's only enemy, as it is the first thing to take the shine off the light paper. Keep the bunny in a cool spot in the pantry, and it will be ready to stand on your table on Easter Sunday.

On the Easter shelf you will find its siblings in bolder colors; among the gifts, it stands on its own even without a nest; and the figures from Riemerling range from hearts and stars to lambs.

Fesey
