Portus Cale – Tradition and Craftsmanship from Portugal

The production of natural soaps has a 300-year-old tradition in Portugal – Castelbel's own history began in 1999.

Not far from the port city of Porto in northern Portugal lies the small village of Castêlo da Maia – it was the company's headquarters and gave the brand its name: Castelbel – beautiful castle.

Initially, Castelbel produced private label products for upscale department stores. Since 2006, the Castelbel Ambiente collection (Lavender, Rose, Verbena) has been available, featuring soaps and wonderful room fragrances in magnificent glass diffusers, which are exported from Portugal to the entire world. One year later, the exclusive Portus Cale collection followed.
