In the new fine stripes pattern: Breakfast plate by Casa Cubista

The Casa Cubista small plate is a ceramic breakfast plate in the new fine stripes pattern. This beautiful terracotta plate made of high-quality stoneware is handcrafted and glazed in Portugal for Casa Cubista. The painter places the brush in the center of the plate to create a dot, then guides it slowly in a circle until a spiral or many fine rings are formed. With this breakfast or cake plate, you can serve many treats at your table. With a diameter of 22.5 cm, the plate is a good size for all sorts of delicacies, such as croissants with jam, French toast, strawberry cake or chocolate tarts, small appetizers, or side salads; it looks wonderfully decorative while setting the table and brings the Portuguese sun to your table with its warm tangerine yellow. In the photo, the yellow looks slightly neon, but it is actually a warm yellow.

The handmade plate features a lovely design; while classically hand-painted, it speaks a modern language while preserving traditional craftsmanship. It will delight you and your guests and is always a great companion when it comes to culinary enjoyment. It reminds us of a small restaurant on the Portuguese Algarve where fresh cuisine was served on plates just like these, in various sizes, colors, and patterns. It was always a feast. For the eyes and the palate.

Casa Cubista – Ceramic plates from Portugal

Casa Cubista was founded about ten years ago by David Pimentel and his friend Arrens in Olhão in the Algarve. David has Portuguese roots and wanted to bring quality craftsmanship from his home country to tables in other countries as well. After all, sitting at a set table with family or friends is pure joy. With his beautiful plates and bowls, Casa Cubista brings a love for beautiful things into your everyday life.

The Casa Cubista ceramic tableware is produced according to David's designs in a family-run manufactory in the Algarve. Even though not every piece is made on a potter's wheel, each one is handled, cast, sanded, and individually glazed by Rui—whose family has mastered the pottery craft for over 200 years—and his aunt Regina, among others, using these great colors, which are food-safe and free of harmful chemicals. The fine yellow stripes lie beneath the glaze, the luster of which is preserved through hand washing over many breakfasts. Each plate is a unique piece. Minor irregularities in the glaze are normal and intentional. This way, every bowl, every plate, every pitcher always looks a little different. Even the lines are not perfectly geometric but are painted by eye. Casa Cubista ceramics are, after all, true craftsmanship.

The fine yellow stripes are the latest addition to the collection and stand alongside bold stripe, dash, and ray as naturally as the red or sage green versions. Mix and match – give it a try!
