It certainly takes some time to get used to a cast iron skillet if you are coming from a coated aluminium or stainless steel pan, as it has different frying characteristics. It takes longer to heat up, but it holds the heat longer, fries more evenly, and the skillet develops (and this is important) a patina. At first, these are dull, greyish spots, usually starting in the middle of the skillet until the bottom is covered in them, and then those many small spots merge into one large spot. This is completely normal behaviour for a cast iron skillet. Please do not try to wipe out or otherwise remove the patina. The more patina there is, the better the skillet fries, because the patina is, so to speak, a natural non-stick coating. Properly seasoned, the skillet will last for generations. When frying with cast iron skillets, it is important to always place them on the stove with good oil; medium heat is sufficient. To clean, it is usually enough to wipe the skillet out with a paper towel; residues can be removed with hot water.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Le Creuset","offers":[{"title":"1 piece","offer_id":53074279235918,"sku":"074LEC095","price":179.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0905\/1124\/5646\/files\/le-creuset-pfanne-ofenrot-24.jpg?v=1751014556","url":"https:\/\/norgutes.com\/en\/products\/le-creuset-pfanne-gusseisen-ofenrot-24cm","provider":"nur Gutes","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
