The popular Velvet blanket, one of Klippan’s classics, features a modern pattern and cream-colored fringe and is available in many colors, so everyone can find their own blanket in their favorite shade. We find it fascinating that the pattern of this fine wool blanket looks like a diamond pattern on one side and a honeycomb pattern on the other.

Whether you use the Klippan Velvet wool blanket as a throw for snuggling on the sofa, as a bedspread, or as a cozy blanket to drape over your shoulders on balmy summer evenings, you will love it. Velvet is a beautiful, high-contrast blanket with a Nordic pattern that keeps you nice and warm and simply looks great. At 130x200 cm, the petrol-colored Velvet wool blanket is the perfect size for a cozy throw. Ultimately, besides natural materials, softness, and beautiful aesthetics, size plays an important role in making the Klippan Velvet blanket your favorite.

Wool, new wool, or lambswool – what is the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This blanket consists of 100% lambswool. Lambswool refers to the wool from a sheep's (very) first shearing, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like new wool, it is usually obtained from living sheep in one piece in the spring. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being dyed a wonderful petrol color and spun into yarn. The Klippan Velvet blankets are then woven from this wool. Lambswool is said to be barely itchy, breathable, and has excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything possible to ensure the blanket feels soft; for this, the lambswool is extra pre-combed, although this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket would be, and the blanket may pill slightly at the beginning.

The petrol-blue Velvet throw can be washed wonderfully at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cozy blanket yourself if needed. To ensure you enjoy your wool blanket for a long time, it is best to use a mild wool detergent and avoid fabric softener. Keep in mind that natural wool grease has a self-cleaning effect and you will gradually wash it out with every cycle. The Velvet blanket gets the air it needs through the dense fabric when hung outside on the line. If you are looking for a petrol-blue wool blanket that fits your interior style, this Klippan Velvet wool blanket is the perfect choice.

Velvet – Lambswool blanket

Design: Klippan (2018)

Quality: 100% lambswool

Wool weight: 410g/m²

Color: petrol – petrol-blue

Care: Hand wash and wool machine wash at 30 °C

Size: approx. 130cm x 200cm (incl. fringe)

Made in Europe

Klippan Yllefabrik – Tradition and Swedish design

Klippan Yllefabrik products combine modern Swedish design with a tradition of spinning and weaving wool, cotton, and linen textiles spanning more than a hundred years.
