The popular Velvet blanket, one of the Klippan classics, is available in many colors with its modern pattern and cream-colored fringe, so everyone can find their own blanket in their favorite color. We find it fascinating that the pattern of this fine wool blanket features a diamond design on one side and a honeycomb pattern on the other.

Whether you use the Klippan Velvet wool blanket as a throw for snuggling on the sofa, as a bedspread, or as a cozy blanket to drape over your shoulders on balmy summer evenings, you will love it. Velvet is a beautiful, high-contrast blanket with a Nordic pattern that keeps you nice and warm and simply looks great. Measuring 130x200 cm, the black Velvet wool blanket is a great size for a cuddle blanket. After all, size plays an important role alongside natural materials, softness, and beautiful appearance in making the Klippan Velvet your favorite blanket.

Wool, new wool, or lambswool – what is the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This blanket is made of 100% lambswool. Lambswool is defined as the wool from a lamb's very first shearing, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like new wool, it is harvested from living sheep, usually in the spring, in as close to one piece as possible. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being beautifully dyed black and spun into yarn. The Klippan Velvet blankets are then woven from this wool. Lambswool is said to be barely scratchy, breathable, and has excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything possible to ensure the blanket feels soft, extra pre-combing the lambswool for this purpose; however, this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket would be, and the blanket will shed a little, especially at the beginning.

The black Velvet throw can be wonderfully washed at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cozy blanket yourself when needed. To ensure you enjoy your wool blanket for a long time, it is best to use a mild wool detergent and avoid fabric softener. Keep in mind that natural wool grease has a self-cleaning effect, and you will gradually wash it out with every wash. The Velvet blanket hangs black on the clothesline and needs nothing more than time and wind there. If you are looking for a black wool blanket that suits your interior style, this Klippan Velvet wool blanket is just the right one.

Velvet – Lambswool blanket

Design: Klippan (2018)

Quality: 100% lambswool

Wool weight: 410g/m²

Color: black

Care: Hand wash and machine wool wash at 30 °C

Size: approx. 130cm x 200cm (incl. fringe)

Made in Europe

Klippan Yllefabrik – Tradition and Swedish design

Klippan Yllefabrik products combine modern Swedish design with a tradition of spinning and weaving textiles from wool, cotton, and linen spanning more than a century.
