Ultimately, size, along with natural materials, softness, and a beautiful look, plays an important role in making the Klippan Wool Blanket Stella your favorite blanket.

Wool, virgin wool, or lambswool – what is the difference?

Wool is a natural and renewable raw material. This blanket is made of 100% lambswool. Lambswool refers to the wool from a sheep's (very) first shearing, within the first 6 months of life. It is particularly soft because the fibers are still very fine. Like virgin wool, it is obtained from living sheep, usually in spring and ideally in one piece. After shearing, the wool is combed and loosened before being dyed a wonderful coke grey and spun into yarn. The Klippan Stella blankets are then woven from this wool. Lambswool is said to be barely scratchy, breathable, and to have excellent insulating properties. It warms in winter and cools in summer. Klippan does everything to ensure the blanket feels soft, and for this, the lambswool is extra pre-combed; however, this quality is naturally scratchier than a cotton blanket would be, and the blanket may shed a little, especially at the beginning.

The Stella throw can be wonderfully washed at 30 degrees, so you can easily wash your cozy blanket yourself when needed. To ensure you enjoy your wool blanket for a long time, it is best to use a mild wool detergent and avoid fabric softener. Remember that the natural wool grease has a self-cleaning effect and that you wash it out bit by bit with every wash. You can air out the coke grey Stella blanket in the fresh air without any spin cycle or wool detergent. If you are looking for a coke grey wool blanket that suits your interior style, this Klippan Wool Blanket Stella is the perfect choice.

Stella – Lambswool blanket

Design: Birgitta Bengtsson Björk (2020)

Quality: 100% lambswool

Wool weight: 410g/m²

Color: coke grey

Care: Hand wash and machine wool wash at 30 °C

Size: approx. 130cm x 200cm (incl. fringes)

Made in Europe

Klippan Yllefabrik – Tradition and Swedish design

The products of Klippan Yllefabrik combine modern Swedish design with a more than hundred-year-old tradition of spinning and weaving textiles from wool, cotton, and linen.
