The rays run toward the center of the plate, and their shine is preserved as long as the plate is washed by hand. Each bowl is unique. Small irregularities in the glaze are normal and intentional. Thus, every bowl, every plate, every pitcher always looks a little different. The rays, too, are not perfectly geometric but painted by eye.
