Even if not every piece is made on the potter's wheel, each one is handled, cast, sanded, and individually glazed by Rui—whose family has mastered the pottery craft for over 200 years—and, among others, his aunt Regina, using these fantastic colors, which are incidentally food-safe and free of harmful chemicals. Hand washing preserves the shine that Regina's glaze has given the large plate, meal after meal. Each bowl is unique. Small irregularities in the glaze are normal and intentional. This is why every bowl, every plate, every pitcher always looks a little different. The stripes, too, are not perfectly geometric but painted by eye.
